Continuing from the previous post on ‘Lead Friendly Light’; thank you dear readers for your comments, email/messages.
The views range from…
the mixing of both leadership and friendship could be burdensome
while friendship augments leadership, very few leaders can pull it off
to…
they pair wonderfully well
the distinct realms of Friendship and Leadership intersect in behaviours such as: simple liking, respect, camaraderie, acceptance, empathy, fairness, growth, inspiration, exploring, guidance, sharing failures and triumphs, being there for the other, etc., mainly, due to a sense of shared values.
And, as one reader aptly expressed it, as long as their paths cross, opportunities exist for making available to friends our leadership strengths; and for leaders, our gift of friendship.
Triggered by the thoughts you shared, (and by the sheer coincidence of being engaged in making clay clocks as part of my pottery adventures), I recalled an interesting aspect of clocks and crossings from the field of horology!
Horologists say that, in a clock, all the hands - the Hour, Minute and Second – cross each other every 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 27.3 seconds.
The hands pass each other 11 times in a 12 hour duration to finally line up together during the ‘mirror hours' at noon and midnight! It is cheerfully explained at this link
Is it possible for us to be more aware of the dimension of time and the possibility of the ‘Hour’ - Leadership, ‘Minute’ - Friendship, and ‘Seconds’ - Shared Values, coming together; and make the most of those times to create memorable, magical moments!
Wishing you a lifetime of crossings and convergence!
That's an amazing thought Chitra. The thought of the hour leadership, minute friendship and seconds on shared common values is exquisite. It is not about this or that but inclusiveness of all in one and one in all. Wow. Way to go Chitra.
